Survivor Series takes place on November 24, and that means WWE has a little over three weeks to prepare for one of its oldest events. Through November, NXT has played a significant role in the most compelling WWE storylines. In fact, the developmental brand has injected new life into the Survivor Series build this year with the Invasion angle. While this story has been entertaining in several spots, it creates a dilemma for WWE creative moving forward.

I love some of the matchups we’re seeing on Smackdown and Raw. Take a look at the Survivor Series card thus far and you’ll see some exciting potential matches headed our way from Rosemont, Illinois on Sunday.
To no one’s surprise, Saturday’s NXT Takeover: Wargames 3 show was fantastic. Now the attention turns to one of the biggest wrestling events of the year, WWE’s Survivor Series. For the past few years, Survivor Series has been all about brand supremacy: Raw and SmackDown collide to see which brand comes out on top. This year is a bit different, as NXT is added into that formula. NXT is fantastic, so that should mean good things come Sunday.

All three world titles will be defended at Survivor Series. WWE Champion Brock Lesnar takes on Rey Mysterio, Daniel Bryan challenges for Bray Wyatt’s Universal Championship and NXT Champion Adam Cole (baybay) defends his gold against Pete Dunn.

As for brand supremacy, there will be two different five-on-five-on-five elimination-style team matches: One featuring men from all three brands, and one featuring women.

More enticing, though, are the triple threat matches. Becky Lynch, Bayley and Shayna Baszler, the respective women’s champions of Raw, SmackDown and NXT, square off against each other. Perhaps most promisingly, Shinsuke Nakamura, AJ Styles and Roderick Strong, all champions on their brands, take on one another in what should be a fantastic match.

Start times
Survivor Series 2019 takes place in Chicago, Illnois on Sunday, Nov. 24. The main card starts at 4 p.m. PT/7 p.m. ET. If you’re a WWE Network subscriber — at $9.99 per month, but free for one month for new subscribers — you can watch it live for free. Otherwise you’ll need to contact your local cable provider and pay a separate fee to watch. The Kickoff Show starts at 3 p.m. PT/6 p.m. ET on WWE’s YouTube channel and the WWE Network.

Viewers in the UK will have to stay up late, as the show starts there at midnight Monday GMT (11 p.m. Sunday kickoff). For Australians, Survivor Series starts at 11 a.m. AEDT time (8 a.m. kickoff) on Monday.

SmackDown. Due to being overlooked for two decades, this brand has been continuously referred to as the ‘B-show.’ Needless to say, this brand has a chip on their shoulder, and that chip must be very salty from the shellacking it took from Raw at last year’s Survivor Series. With the new Fox deal in business, expect this brand to utilize that momentum to redeem themselves, acquiesce the bragging rights they so desperately need, and prove why the ‘B’ in ‘B-show’ stands for best.

NXT. Due to its in-depth storytelling and outstanding in-ring performances, this brand promotes itself as the ‘No B.S. show.’ With its strong attraction towards hardcore wrestling fans, it is a brand with nothing to lose and everything to gain for their official debut at this year’s Survivor Series. The tables have now turned because Raw and SmackDown must not only focus on each other but must also focus on a ‘rookie brand’ that looks forward to taking names, making statements, and grasping those imaginary brass rings. This exposure should also help with their ratings competition against AEW on Wednesday Nights.

Nonetheless, four star-studded matches have been announced thus far: (1) Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Rey Mysterio for the WWE Championship, (2) United States Champion AJ Styles vs. Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura vs. NXT North American Champion Roderick Strong, (3) Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch vs. SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley vs. NXT Women’s Champion Shaya Bayzler, and (4) Raw Tag Team Champions The Viking Raiders vs. SmackDown Tag Team Champions The New Day vs. NXT Tag Team Champions The Undisputed Era. The men’s and women’s 5-on-5-on-5 Survivor Series matches are also scheduled to happen at this event.

With that being said, it’s time to go to war and plunge into a slur of surprises for November’s PPV with my illustrious colleague, Kevin Parvizi. Let’s now predict the WWE Survivor Series 2019 card, starting with the Tag Team Champions match.
